About ScienceDirect eBooks

In addition to eJournals, LIT Library collection on ScienceDirect  includes 250 titles in the following subjects: Business, Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Computer Science, Energy, Finance, Forensics, Media Technology.

Access on & off campus

All eBooks available via LIT Library can be accessed both on and off campus. You will be required to log in using your LIT username and password.

How to read ScienceDirect eBooks

Books chapters are in PDF and chapters may be read in the browser using Adobe reader plugin. Chapters may also be downloaded and printed.

After accessing a book title, you can view or download the PDF. The  PDF may load in your browser window or it may open PDF reader software such as Adobe, depending on the software and browser plug-ins you may have installed. You can choose to download or print the PDF once it has opened.


Please note: It is not possible to add notes or annotate a downloaded eBook.

In order to read downloaded ScienceDirect eBooks, you must have Adobe Reader  installed on your computer. 

You can download Adobe software from the Adobe website

Please note LIT Library doesn't have access to all content on ScienceDirect.
To see only content LIT have access to, choose Books at the top of the page, then filter by All access types and choose Subscription & Complimentary. You can also filter by All books. Place the cursor on the icon to see holdings info, click on the icon for details (volume/year). Owned content is marked with SDgreen (= Full-text available) and non-owned with SDvit (= Abstract only).
