How "Click & Collect" operates at LIT Library

The Library has introduced a new "click and collect" service for all students and staff at LIT. When you place a hold on a resource through the library catalogue, a member of the library team will receive and process your request as soon as possible.

Step 1: How to make a "Click & Collect" request?

In order to make a "Click & Collect" request, you must login to your library account via the library catalogue.

You can login to your library account through the library website, or by clicking on library catalogue to access the library login page directly.


You should now see the following pop-up. Enter your LIT credentials to login to your library account.


Step 2

Search for the book that you wish to request and click search.

Please note: Only place a "hold" on a book held at the campus library that you attend. Unless, you can collect the item at the campus library at which the book is located.

Step 3: Place a hold on the book

From the search results listed, click on the item that you wish to request and place a "hold", as highlighted in the following image.

Step 4: Confirm Hold

To confirm a hold, click "confirm" at the bottom of the screen as highlighted below.


When a book is awaiting collection, you will receive an email notification to your LIT email account. The book will be checked out to your account and kept behind the home library issue desk for up to 3 days before the "hold" is cancelled.


  • Books can be collected between 9.15am and 4.45pm Monday - Friday
  • You must present your LIT student card to a member of the library team when collecting the requested item(s).
  • Requested books will be placed in a bag with your K-number, or staff name attached to identify it.


Please note: Depending on the availability of the resource requested, it may take a number of days before the item is ready for collection. If a "hold" is placed on a book that is not available (on loan) in the library collection, a member of the library team will contact you when the book is returned to the library and ready for you to collect.

How to cancel a "hold" request?

To cancel a hold, you will need to login to your library account. In your account Summary, you will see the books checked out to your account. Next to the "Checked out" tab, you will see "holds" as highlighted in the following image. Click "holds", and then click cancel to remove your request.
