undefinedThere are lots of online options to choose from when you are searching for research for your college projects.

This guide concentrates on three main search engines: Google, Google Scholar & the library search engine, Discover!. There are advantages and disadvantages to each of them. 

While we would always recommend Discover! and its associated databases above the others, the comparisons in the chart below will help you to make up your own mind.

Is my Source Scholarly?

When you are searching for references for your research, the big question you always need to ask is whether or not the source you are using is scholarly. Scholarly sources are good quality academic papers that have been reviewed by a panel of experts before being published in reputable journals. Using these kinds of sources makes for good grades.The chart below will help you decide on your source:
